Bluebird Research provides specialist genealogy and family history research services across Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, Transcaucasia and parts of the Middle East. We operate through a network of affordable and trusted like-minded researchers with local expertise and contacts in the field.
From January 2012 we are concentrating upon the following areas of genealogical research:
- Armenian ancestry in and beyond the Republic of Armenia, including Constantinople / Istanbul, the Kars region of Turkey, and Iran
- Croatia, Bosnia-Hercegovina (including Republika Srpska), Montenegro and Serbia – all nationalities and religions, including German and Jewish
- Cyprus – Greek Cypriot only
- Greece
- Greek community in Egypt (Alexandria, Cairo, Port Said etc)
- Jewish research in Belarus, Romania, the former Yugoslavia and elsewhere
- Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian research before WW1
- Romania and Moldova – all nationalities and religions, including German and Jewish
- Russia, including Siberia and the Far-East (Harbin, Manchuria, Shanghai etc)
Our special interest lies in population movement and resettlement, diasporas, Nansen passport stateless persons, post-WW2 Displaced Persons (DPs), and the multi-ethnic contact regions of Europe (such as Istria, Transylvania and the Banat/Vojvodina).
Additionally, we are able to provide free advice and assessments on family history research in the following territories:
